Version 1.0.4 focuses primarily on refinement and structural improvements. Nothing revolutionary, but a number of adjustments that improve accuracy, usability, and overall consistency.
Lufthansa Normal Checklists - Closer to the Original
The Lufthansa Normal Checklists have been further aligned with their real-world wording and structure.
Aircraft with a D-AIR_ registration now correctly include the fleet-specific checklist item: "CABIN ..... READY". As in the real fleet, this item is limited to those aircraft. Small detail, but one that belongs exactly where it should.
Interface Adjustments
The native iOS top bar has been removed within simREF to create a cleaner, more consistent interface.
In addition:
- Bright Mode has been introduced and refined.
- The engine label inside the aircraft box can now be toggled via Settings.
- The Quick Access menu now correctly binds to the bottom screen edge.
None of these changes are dramatic, but together they make the app feel more intentional and less "borrowed" from the system UI.
LH-Virtual Expansion
Version 1.0.4 introduces:
- A330 / A340 support for LH-Virtual.
- Custom LH-Virtual SOPs for A320-family aircraft.
The SOP implementation currently applies to the A320 series only, as intended. Widebody SOP integration remains separate.
Known Behaviour: Background App Closing
Some users may notice that simREF occasionally closes after extended inactivity in the background.
This is related to iOS memory management under certain conditions. I am aware of the issue, but have not yet found a solution that satisfies both stability and performance requirements. It remains under investigation.
Workflow Improvements
- The "Descent Preparation" empty state issue has been resolved.
- Files can now be renamed via long press.
Simple improvements, but useful ones.
What is Next
Development continues in parallel:
- Phase 2 of the A330 / A340 integration is underway.
- A broader MEL overhaul is planned for the next update.
In addition, work has started on a separate new initiative running alongside simREF. More information will be shared once it reaches a stable stage.
Version 1.0.4 is primarily about tightening the details and preparing the groundwork for what follows.
As always, feedback is welcome and continues to shape future updates.
